Soaking up the Sun

Had a fail breakfast date with the Filipinos this morning
Fail - as predicted
But fun :)
Looks like we are not morning people (as if we didn't know).

We discovered that we are amuse by strange things
Such as writing on tissue and incest
We have a different sense of humor than normal people
And...we don't do well with planning things.

Then we had an adventurous day.

With the sun out like this,
I've come to see the side of Hong Kong that is breathtaking.
I used to think
As disgusting as the air is in Hong Kong
As crowded as the MTR is in Admiralty
As smelly as the people are in Mong Kok
I will miss every bits of its disgusting-ness.

But now that I have 40 days left before leaving,
I see that there are so many thumbs-ups about this city
That I will greatly miss.

Lying on Jane's lap, staring out at the harbor
I thought to myself - what a wonderful world.
Well, what a wonderful city.

This is my home. The good and the bad.
The smog, the nice view.
This place is my roots
My friends - nutrients and perhaps...fertilizer.

Thoughts rushed to my head as I laid there
Knowing the seconds are ticking by
Time passing by.

Sometimes I wish nothing would change,
But then again - absence is what makes the heart grow fonder.

I've learned that one cannot have too many friends
Because friendship takes a lot to build
True friendships that is...

I'm glad that with graduating
I can finally tell and decide for myself
With another layer of assurance
Who my friends are
And what kind of a friend I want to be.
